Hello and welcome.
I am Abby, a mixed media and jewelry artist, originally from Alaska and now living in beautiful Bowling Green, Kentucky surrounded by rolling hills and the Karst landscape of cave country.
I create intuitively, as my work is highly influenced and inspired by the natural world, and the feelings it evokes in me. My interpretations of those feelings are expressed in an abstract way, using whatever medium calls to me at that moment.
My art continues to evolve through mixed media exploration, and digging deeper into my soul’s bond with nature.
Thank you for being here, and supporting me in my journey.
A little more about me.
*I was born in Manila, Philippines and immigrated to Fairbanks, Alaska to join my family, at the young age of 8 years old. It was quite a shock to go from a tropical climate to the arctic. Although having to learn a new language and culture was a challenge, I would not change the experience that made me into who I am today.
*I am a mother to two young handsome men, Nick (28 yrs) and Jared (27 yrs) , a wife to Bo, and a Doggy Mom to Rayne and Kaiah (Who passed March 2021).
*I was a military wife for the 24 years that my husband served in the US Army, which he is now retired from.
*My college degrees were far from being anything related to art. I have a Bachelors in Psychology with minors in both Biological Sciences, and Education, which gave me the opportunity to teach. A number of years later I completed a Health Information Management degree and worked for a hospital in their medical records department.
*My other interests include traveling, hiking, kayaking, gardening, reading, and running.
